The Best Hotels in Las Vegas

Learn about the best hotels in Las Vegas in this video about Vegas. Expert: Mike Myers
Video transcript:
My name is Mike Myers. I am the owner of Legion Marketing; my expertise is in nightlife. I believe that I know the best and brightest of everything that’s in Las Vegas. I can help you skip the lines, skip the bad spots, basically cut the fat. Head and shoulders above the rest is the Wynn Encore Resort and Casino. The regular rooms are spacious and the entire tower of Encore is all suites. With an 18-hole golf course, two world-renowned nightclubs in Tryst and Excess, and two smaller clubs and lounges, and perhaps the most lavish pool anyone’s ever seen in Encore Beach Club. They actually built a mountain out front that makes it look like the hotel sits on a lake in Tuscany. The only foie comes in the restaurants which seem a little flat and stuffy, but still excellent quality. The Bellagio is second when it comes to service and beauty. The dancing fountains remain the single greatest attribute and a defining visual to the excellence that is The Bellagio. The villas are big and the rooms are lush. The Bank Nightclub and Caramel Lounge have been staples in the Las Vegas scene for years, and the restaurants are a ‘Who’s Who’ in the culinary world. It’s lacking a pool party or a pool scene, really of any kind. I would guess that is going to be changing in the coming years. The Cosmopolitan is the newest casino to be opened in Las Vegas. Bringing most of its influences from New York City, the crowd definitely shows it. It’s young and hip, and losing money, despite being packed at all times. The restaurants like STK and Scarpetta are very popular, and so is its night club Marquis and a pool by the same name. The hotel was originally built as a condo hotel, so every room has balconies and kitchens in them, but the service is definitely lacking, and if you’re not in the night life or the scene, there’s little if any to do on property.

Determine what you want to get out of your hotel. Is it simply a place to sleep for 8 hours and then you leave or is it a place you will be utilizing all the amenities and dining in the restaurants and shopping in the malls? Once you know what type of experience you are looking for, you need to determine the level of service and quality that you are seeking. Do you like the finer things in life? Are you wearing anything with the name Gucci or Prada on it right now? Will we be doing any gambling while you are in town or is that not your thing? All these questions should help you narrow down your focus. Most people’s final answer boils down to money. How much are you willing to spend each night and for what type of room? And there is just a matter of choosing which one best fits all your criteria. If you are looking for the best of the best then the Wynn Encore is probably going to be your best choice, Bellagio is a close 2nd and the shopping is limited in both of them but both of the biggest designers in-house and some of the best restaurants in the world around every corner. If you are on a business trip, The Venetian or Mandalay Bay are very popular due to their connections to the two biggest convention centers in Las Vegas. They both have a lot of rooms. The Venetian a Palazzo was the largest hotel in the world with 7000 plus rooms and a lot of restaurants with a bigger variety of price point so you don’t have to break your bank on a work trip. If you are here just to party, The Cosmopolitan is the newest hotel with very hip bars and restaurants and pools and is the most popular night club in the country. City Center has a wide variety of entertainment and room product even boasting the Mandarin Oriental boutique hotel for those who want a more intimate experience while still benefitting from being a Jason to a mega resort that has multiple night clubs and lounges for you to choose from.
