That’s what it looked like in 1979/2004. It’s worse today.

I’m a Fedex Express Courier living in Las Vegas, Nevada and it started Snowing around 8:40 – 9:00 a.m. as I was driving. It finally stopped at 8:00 p.m. or so followed by Rain. This is the heaviest it’s Snowed in Vegas since 1979. The Las Vegas Valley is covered in Snow and right now it’s still Raining.

It got so bad my truck had trouble driving in reverse (the Gears would stick) and I got stuck twice before continuing on.

Is it Snowing/Raining where you are now?

For those who might not understand : Our trucks have Summer tires. Heavy duty and wide track for traction. They aren’t set to drive under these conditions. It has nothin to do with my driving skills. We drive in rain all the time. Just not Snow.
As for driving in Reverse? We have to back into side streets and ramps for receiving departments at businesses. There is so much wet snow it turns into slush and messes with the trucks underneath. I guess It does something to the drive shaft which is unprotected … I’m not a mechanic so I don’t quite understand it. We still drive in Reverse when needed.

Yes, I’m originally from the crappy state of New Jersey and I frequently drove in heavy, wet snow. I now live in Las Vegas and am mightily pissed off that I may actually have to shovel my driveway tomorrow. By the way, I almost took Eastern home, but I took Burnham and Spencer instead and actually made it from Grand Central and Charleston to Eastern and Silverado in about an hour. Not bad, eh. Pays to have a map on hand.
